This is a gorgeous Victorian mesh purse or bag, it is crafted from solid 9k yellow gold with a dark gold patina which is retained throughout the years. The solid gold bar piping at the top has a double hook top with snap shut and is adorned with two pearls. A small length of sturdy chain as the handle and the end of the mesh chain has dangling pearls for a more fashionable look. In the early 1800s travelers carried money for their trips on chains around their necks worn inside their clothing. This gorgeous antique piece is in great condition and will make a great addition to your collection!
